In May of this year, the court sentenced the former head of the Department for Combating Organized Crime, Rynat Akhmetshin, to 7 years, and the former operational commissioner, Mikhail Logachev, to 6 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. Former operatives Igor Filinov, Nail Myndubaev and Gadel Rakhimov were released in the courtroom due to the completion of the term of the prescribed punishment (2 years, 2 years and 4 years, respectively).

The sixth suspect, a trainee operative, hid from the investigation and was declared wanted.

The investigation established that in October 2017, in the building of the police department, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs asked a 22-year-old Ilnaz Pirkina, seeking recognition for committing 47 protected. On October 19, 2017, after two days in the police station, Pyrkin committed suicide, having pre-recorded a video interview about the torture he was subjected to in the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Nizhnekamsk.
