The teacher of St. Petersburg State University was dismissed because of his participation in the trial of Sasha Skochylenko

Svetlana Drugoveyka-Dolzhanskaya, a teacher at the Faculty of Philology at St. Petersburg State University, was dismissed from the university after she acted as an independent expert in the court case of the artist Sasha Skochylenko, who is accused of spreading fakes about the Russian army.

As the “Fontanka” publication notes, the philologist consistently and convincingly criticized the examination ordered by the investigation to other employees of St. Petersburg State University – candidate of philological sciences Anastasia Hryshanina and teacher Olga Safonova.

According to Drugoveyko-Dolzhanskaya, on Wednesday the university administration notified her of the dismissal order, the document stating the reason for such a decision is “for committing an immoral concession.” The decision itself was made by the commission on ethics of St. Petersburg State University.

Drugoveyko-Dolzhanskaya also reported that she plans to challenge her dismissal in court, although she does not expect a positive result.

• Artist and activist Sasha Skochylenko has been in a pre-trial detention center since April last year. She is accused of pasting stickers on price tags in the Perekrestok store with information about the shelling of the Mariupol drama theater by the Russian military and the deaths of civilians. Skochylenko admitted the fact of distributing the stickers, but stated that the information on them is not false, and therefore she does not consider herself guilty. However, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
