The Department of Control over Foreign Assets of the US Ministry of Finance added Russian billionaires Mikhail Fridman and Peter Aven to the sanctions list.

Russian businessmen Herman Khan and Alexei Kuzmichev were also included in the sanctions list.

Friedman and Aven are also on the EU sanctions list, they got there February 28, 2022, four days after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Billionaires immediately declared thatwill appeal the sanctions.
Friedman, who grew up in Ukraine, made his fortune in Russia and moved to London in 2015, has long denied claims of his closeness to the Kremlin.
Aven left Russia shortly after participating in a round table with Putin on the day the full-scale war began and has not yet returned.
Friedman continues to live in Britain, where he is despite the sanctions allowed to spend money on their employees.
This spring, it became known that Friedman and Aven are ready to sell their shares in Alfa-Bank for $2.3 billion, as they seek to free themselves from Western sanctions.
