Since February 5, the USA has introduced a price ceiling for Russian oil products at the level of $100 and $45 per barrel, depending on their category. This is stated in the message of the US Ministry of Finance.

The corresponding order, published on the department’s website, was signed by US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
Price ceiling
A ceiling of $100 per barrel is set for oil products trading at a price higher than crude oil, and $45 for cheaper ones.
As reported, such a price for oil products was agreed by the European Union with the countries of the “big seven”.

The EU wants to ban the import of Russian oil products on its territory from February 5, but at the same time introduce a price ceiling for Russia’s export of this product to third countries together with the G7.
