There is no heat in Klimovsk near Moscow due to a rupture of the heating line at the cartridge factory, Kommersant newspaper reported on the night of January 4 to 5.

People were left without heat and hot water as early as the morning of January 4, they reported on social networks, the publication says. The Administration of Podolsk reported in the afternoon that due to the breakdown of the heating line, the supply of heat and hot water to apartment buildings in Klimovsk (Podolsk district) “was suspended.”

The city administration issued a message saying that “leaks were eliminated, work is being done at the boiler house to fill the system for starting the boilers.”

The mayor of Podolsk, Grigory Artamonov, reacted to what happened near the end of the night, “Kommersant” reports. According to the mayor, three leaks were discovered. The situation, however, was complicated by the fact that the plant is a regulatory facility, “this increased the time it took to eliminate the accident,” explained Artamonov.

Repair work is carried out by employees of the enterprise itself and emergency crews of “Podolskaya Teploset” company. The mayor promised to start filling the system in the near future, and also to send 10 heat guns to the hospital, which also remained without heat.

“I understand the righteous indignation of the residents. We will do everything possible to restore the heat supply as soon as possible. Work and monitoring will continue until the situation is completely normalized,” Artamonov wrote in Telegram, they note.

Klimovsky Specialized Cartridge Factory — was established in 1936 as Novopodolsk Cartridge Factory No. 188. Now it specializes in the production of ammunition for small arms and its repair. More than 300 specialists work at the plant.
