Ukraine will not announce in advance the date of the offensive, which is expected at the front at any time. In an interview with the Italian publication Corriere della Sera, the Secretary of the Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine, Alexey Danilov, stated that the tactics of the Ukrainian military are constantly changing and they will begin to act when the best time for counterattacks comes.

On Sunday, the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Anna Malyar, published a video in which the Ukrainian military calls for silence. The video ends with the words: “Plans love silence. There will be no announcement about the start.”

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi made several statements regarding the expected offensive of Ukrainian forces: he stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready for military action, but it is difficult for him to name the date when the offensive will begin.

Russian Telegram channels, writing about the war in Ukraine, reported on Sunday about the attack of the Ukrainian military in the area of ​​the village of Velikaya Novosylka, on the border of the Zaporozhye and Donetsk regions. A number of channels reported that Ukrainian forces managed to occupy two settlements south of Velika Novoselka, Novodarovka and Neskuchnoe, and a number of Ukrainian sources also reported the same.

Other Russian channels write about the “tactical success” of the Ukrainian troops, but emphasize that there was no breakthrough in the defense, and the attackers suffered losses in equipment. The same assessment of events was given by Vladimir Rogov, one of the officials appointed by Russia in the Zaporozhye region. There were no official comments from the Ukrainian side about the fighting in this direction.

At the same time, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Alexander Syrsky, announced the advance of the Ukrainian military by 400 meters in the Svatovsky direction. A number of Russian commentators also reported the presence of the Ukrainian military in the “Gardens” country estate southwest of Bakhmut. This territory is part of the city, the main part of which is under the control of Russia. The other day, Prigozhin announced the transfer of positions in Bakhmut from PMC “Wagner” to the regular army.
