According to the CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk, encrypted personal messages cannot be intercepted by anyone, neither employees of the social network, nor Musk himself.

“I can’t see your DMs even if there’s a gun to my head,” Musk said.

Musk added that in the current version of the program, users can send DMs in response to any message in a thread (message chain) and use any of the emoji reactions.

Calls and video chat

Also, Twitter users will soon be able to make voice and video calls on the platform using their social network ID.

“You can communicate with people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number,” Musk noted.

You can send voice messages in Twitter Spaces audio rooms, but they are public and available for group chats. The new features are intended for private conversations between Twitter users.
