In Sochi, two young women were held all night in the police station and both were issued a report for “LGBT propaganda.” The reason was that they drank wine on a bench by the river, and one kissed the other. Law enforcement officers detained them and left them in the department until morning. The detainees themselves state that they do not identify as a same-sex couple and have no relation to the LGBT community.
As “Mediazona” reports, we are talking about Alina Milova from Muscovite and her friend Veronika Mykhailova, who came to Sochi on vacation. Mylova is making a career as a photo model in Moscow, Mykhailova works as a cook in Sochi.
Mylova said that at the police station, where she was taken with her friend, at first they did not know how to formalize the detention. “We were the first in the precinct in Sochi to be arrested for such an article. They don’t even really know it themselves. They googled it on the Internet,” she said.
“In general, the police girls in the precinct said that they would kiss me too. And their girlfriends sometimes do that,” Mylova clarified.
“Mediazona” also reports from the words of the detainees that at the police station Mylova was forced to unlock her phone and show her telegram messages, but Mykhailova was asked to hand over her passport. When she refused, they grabbed the girl, began to twist her hands and handcuffed her. In addition to “LGBT propaganda”, she was also accused of disobeying the police, and the court arrested her for three days.
