The governments of Ukraine and Romania agreed to deepen cooperation in economic and humanitarian areas.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that the joint statement of the governments of Ukraine and Romania declared cooperation between the two countries in both economic and humanitarian directions, in particular, in the areas of logistics and development of border infrastructure.
“In the joint statement just signed, we agreed to increase the transit potential for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products by fully using the EU’s solidarity channels,” Shmyhal noted.
The document also provides that the countries agreed to start implementing a pilot project of joint border and customs control at checkpoints across the common border.
The focus of cooperation is also on such strategic directions as agriculture and energy and the development of export-import capabilities with the European energy space.
“The joint statement also emphasized the possibility of expanding cooperation in the field of energy, transport and digitalization due to Ukraine’s status as an associated state-participant of the Three Seas initiative,” the head of the Ukrainian government added.
