Google LLC filed for bankruptcy in the spring of 2022. Its tax debt amounts to more than 19.6 billion rubles, debtor debt – more than 27 billion rubles (according to data at the end of 2022), debts for salaries and severance benefits – 271 million rubles, and mandatory payments – 85 million.
Since the introduction of surveillance in 2022, more than a thousand Russian companies have submitted demands to Google, reports Pravo.ru. Basically, their demands are related to the violation of obligations to place advertisements after Google filed for its own bankruptcy.
The court appointed the receiver’s report on the progress of the bankruptcy procedure for April 17, 2024.
- After the start of Russia’s war in Ukraine, Russian regulators, with the help of administrative and judicial measures, are trying to get Google to remove “prohibited” content from the corporation’s services, to localize the personal data of users from the Russian Federation, and to remove restrictions from YouTube channels of Russian mass media.
