“Ukrzaliznytsia” sent the first batch of trucks to Poland by rail to bypass blocked road checkpoints.
As “European Truth” reports, the company announced this on Friday night, noting that they had been preparing this step for two weeks.
As part of the anti-railway train, which went to Poland on the route Sknyliv (Ukraine) – Slavkuw (Poland), there were 23 platforms on which 13 tractors with semi-trailers were loaded, and the drivers were taken across the border by bus.
“Customs and border clearance of the cargo takes place at the Izov-Hrubeshiv railway border crossing. Currently, there are still formal issues regarding the rapid crossing of the Polish border, and experts are already working on speeding up the process. Similar flights will be organized in the return direction as well,” Ukrzaliznytsia noted. .
From the Slavkuv station, trucks go to their destination already by road.
“Ukrzaliznytsia” added that it is now possible to order such transportation of trucks from Ukraine to Poland – through the “Lisky” transport service center branch of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, and in the reverse direction – through UZ Cargo Poland.

In recent weeks, the governments of Ukraine and Poland have been conducting dialogue in an attempt to find compromise solutions for unblocking the border. The Ministry of Infrastructure stated that they expect from Poland resumption of negotiations with blockers after empty trucks began to pass at the “Ugryniv – Dolgobychuv” checkpoint.
The European Commission stated that oppose restoration system of issuing permits for Ukrainian truck drivers, required by Polish and Slovak border blockers.
