Since the start of the full-scale incursion under the Sanctions Act, the state has confiscated the assets of nine Russians and fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych.

Among the citizens of the Russian Federation who were deprived of their property are two oligarchs Vladimir Yevtushenkov and Mikhail Shelkov; three rectors of Russian universities Andriy Falafaev, Oleg Polukhin and Anatolii Torkunov; three deputies of the State Duma, Kostyantyn Bakharev, Roman Lyabykhov, and Boris Paikin, as well as one member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from Crimea, Olga Kovitidi.

Consideration of at least two more cases against other Russians, in particular the oligarch Oleg Deripaska, is currently ongoing at the VAKS.

A Russian oligarch close to the Kremlin was the first to lose his assets in Ukraine Vladimir Yevtushenkov. The court proved that he supported the armed attack on Ukraine.

The oligarch is the beneficial owner of Sistema AFK, whose RTI Sistema concern develops drones and special communications equipment used in Ukraine for the Russian army. In December, three Russian rectors lost their assets in the temporarily occupied Crimea. IN Andriy Falaleeva, Oleg Polukhina and Anatoliy Torkunovand confiscated apartments and shares in businesses for supporting the Russian war against Ukraine.

On January 23, VAKS partially satisfied the lawsuit of the Ministry of Justice regarding the confiscation of Ukrainian assets of a Russian billionaire Mikhail Shelkov. Apartments in Odesa and Nikopol, a Lexus, four Mitsubishi Pajeros, funds on accounts and 100% in LLC “VSMPO TITAN Ukraine” were deducted from state income. Instead, the court refused to charge the Demurinsky Mining and Processing Plant. The case will be considered on appeal.

An ex-regional woman originally from Simferopol also came under the confiscation procedure Olga Kovitidi, which is currently a member of the Federation Council from the temporarily occupied Crimea. On January 30, Antikorsud confiscated her 2 houses in Alushta, an apartment and other real estate in Simferopol, as well as two apartments in Sevastopol.

Among the Russian oligarchs and politicians, whose entourage has large assets on the territory of Ukraine, which have not yet been submitted for confiscation – Mikhail Fridman, Alexander Babakov, Mikhail Gutseriev, etc.
