Ukraine needs 37.4 billion dollars for humanitarian demining, of which more than 397 million dollars – this year alone.
About this stated Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal with reference to the assessment of the World Bank.
The full range of humanitarian demining works, Shmyhal noted, will cost the state 37.4 billion dollars. At the same time, the needs for the current year reach more than 397 million dollars.
The Prime Minister called on partners to cooperate, in particular, in the form of patronage of the G7 countries over mined Ukrainian regions. He emphasized that humanitarian demining allows life to return to the de-occupied territories and will allow the implementation of other reconstruction projects, in particular critical and transport infrastructure.
Currently, according to the Prime Minister, the EU, USA, Canada and Japan are leaders in supporting humanitarian demining. To date, 16 million dollars of international technical assistance have been involved, and there are preliminary agreements on another 73 million dollars.
