Ukrainian hackers reported the hacking of the systems of the press center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation

Ukrainian hackers claim that they were able to break into the networks of the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, which is headed by Igor Konashenkov, Cyber ​​Resistance reports.

According to the channel, hackers gained access to the Russian monitoring and analytics system of the Katyusha mass media.

According to the Ukrainian side, employees of the department of the Russian Ministry and the press services of the military districts and fleets under its control constantly analyze the information field about the Russian armed forces, including separate monitoring of foreign mass media.

The site InformNapalm, which is engaged in the analysis of the information space, publishes screenshots of daily media reviews, which are allegedly sent to the press service of a subdivision of the Russian army.

According to InformNapalm, the Katyusha system is used for formal reporting. It is claimed that it incorrectly displays the tonality of messages, so negative publications about the Russian army and leadership are either not taken into account or are labeled as neutral.

Hackers of “Cyber ​​Soprotivleniya” also found Konashenkov’s letter to the deputy general director of VGTRK. It mentions “unreliable” Russian Telegram channels, notes InformNapalm. Hackers did not get access to the list of channels.

The investigators draw attention to the fact that Konashenkov’s letter was dated November 14, the day after the announcement by the Russian state media about the redeployment of Russian troops in the Kherson region. Usually, similar wording is used in the case of the retreat of troops – this was the case last year during the retreat near Kharkiv and from Kherson.

Then the Russian media published and soon canceled the news about the “relocation of troops to more advantageous positions to the east of the Dnieper”. The Ministry of Defense called the distribution of messages allegedly on behalf of the Russian press center of the military department “provocation”. It was not specified who sent the message.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia did not comment on the message of the Ukrainian hackers.
