Ukrainian refugees: how many there are, how they have changed and when they will return

The Center for Economic Strategy invites you to participate in the presentation of a large study on the state of Ukrainian refugees abroad.
From more than 100 pages of text, economists have chosen the most important and will present it on September 4 at 17:00 on Zoom.
To participate in the event – go through mandatory registration.
In the six months that have passed since the first surveys, the number of Ukrainian refugees has increased, and their intentions to return have decreased. This could have been influenced by strikes on energy in the winter, increased missile attacks in May, and the terrorist attack on the Kakhovskaya HPP.
Although for many the most important factor for return will be the end of the war, the Ukrainian government can contribute to this already – from building opportunities for schoolchildren to study at home offline, to a strategic approach in communication with Ukrainians abroad.
At the event, economists will consider: what the portrait of Ukrainian refugees looks like, which countries and why they choose, how their financial situation has changed, and who among them can return.
Given the great interest in the topic, we will set aside an hour for questions from journalists and participants at the event.
Event schedule:
- 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Presentation of the main conclusions from the research, Daria Mykhailyshina, senior economist of the Central Central Economic Center;
- 17:30 – 18:20 Q&A session.
Moderator: Hleb Vyshlinskyi, executive director of CES
Media partner of the event – Economic truth. The event will take place with simultaneous translation into English.
The research was carried out with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
