Ukrainians actively buy used cars. Where they are most actively registered

In April, Ukrainians purchased 93,500 used cars. This is 47.2% more than in the same period of last year 2022, and only 2.9% less than in March 2023. That is, the high activity in the used car market after the peak in March (96.3 thousand) will continue. This is stated in a study by experts of the Institute of Auto Market Research.

The share of domestic resales remains consistently high: 83.9% of the total number of used car sales (78.5 thousand).
The share of imported cars with mileage from abroad amounted to 16.1% of the total number of purchased used cars (15 thousand).

As in the previous month, second-hand cars from abroad were most actively registered in the Lviv region (1.9 thousand units), Kyiv (1.3 thousand units) and Vinnytsia region (1.2 thousand units) .
Kyiv (1,000) and Rivne (1,000) regions were also among the most active regions in March. At the same time, in total, Kyiv together with Kyiv region make up the majority on the market: 15.7%.
The least number of “newly refurbished” cars were registered in Kherson (17), Donetsk (59), Luhansk (104), Nikolaev (184), and Zaporozhye (221) regions.
