PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo” plans to restore about 1,000 MW of hydropower generating capacity, which was damaged by Russian shelling, within the next six months.

This was announced by the General Director of PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo” Ihor Syrota on the air of the telethon. The only news“.

According to him, in total, more than 50 rockets were fired at the facilities of “Ukrhydroenergo”, which resulted in the loss of about 2.5 thousand MW. The company has already succeeded in restoring 1,500 MW, and plans to add another 1,000 MW in the next six months.

Syrota added that “Ukrhydroenergo” lost a total of about 2 billion kWh of electricity production per year and about 8 billion UAH due to missile attacks.

“Ukrhydroenergo” in the conditions of electricity shortage in the power system produces 40 million kWh per day, which is 15-20% of the structure of the country’s energy balance and practically corresponds to the level of the flood period,” said Sirota.

He also added that the share of hydrogen generation in production has always averaged about 10% of the total energy balance. However, Ukrhydroenergo is already covering the deficit, which increases the share of hydrogen generation from 15% to 20%. At the same time, on certain days, the electricity generation of HPPs and GANPs reaches 20-25% of the total energy balance
