The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to limit the pension of persons convicted of crimes against national security to one living wage.
The corresponding draft law was adopted at the government meeting on December 15. reported representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
The draft law proposes to provide for the special payment of pensions to persons sentenced to restriction or deprivation of liberty for crimes against the foundations of national and public security, peace, security of humanity, and international legal order.
During the term of serving the punishment in the form of restriction or deprivation of liberty, such persons will receive a pension that does not exceed the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work.
As of 2024, it is UAH 2,361.
The project of the Law on Amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure with regard to persons who are suspected or accused of committing a criminal offense was also approved.
The draft law is aimed at establishing cooperation between investigators and prosecutors with the Pension Fund of Ukraine to settle issues related to the payment of pensions.
The draft Law proposes to provide that investigators and prosecutors will inform the Pension Fund about suspects and those accused of intentional criminal offenses who are entitled to pension benefits. Such notification will be carried out in the event that the specified categories of citizens are declared wanted, internationally wanted, or removed from the wanted list.
