What is a transport tax?
By purpose, the transport tax is a tax on property. The same as the tax on immovable property, other than a land plot (apartment or garage), and land fee.
The amount of transport tax payment does not depend on the cost of the car. Ego rate is fixed — UAH 25,000 per hour for each taxable car. Transport tax is paid to local budgets.

How to pay transport tax
Transport tax is tied to the cost of the car and its age.
Cars that cost more than 375 minimum wages are taxed. That is, in 2023, the tax will be levied on cars worth more than UAH 2.25 million.
The second criterion used to determine whether a tax will be levied on a car is its age. Depending on the brand, cars not older than 5 years old are subject to payment.
So that taxpayers don’t have to worry about whether they should pay tax or not, the government does it for them.
Every year, the Ministry of Economic Development publishes a list of car brands and models subject to taxation.
