Yulian Boyarshinov, convicted in the “Seta” case, was released

Yulian Boyarshinov, convicted in the St. Petersburg part of the so-called terrorist community “Network”, has been released. This is reported by the correspondent of Sever.Realii. His parents, wife and friends came to meet Boyarshinov.

Boyarshinov was released from Karelian colony No. 7 in Segezhe early in the morning on April 21, although his relatives and friends expected this to happen in the second half of the day.

Boyarshinov said that the administration issued him a ticket for a train to St. Petersburg, which leaves at 10 a.m., and released just in time: “Customer-oriented service,” Yuliy Boyarshinov explained his haste to leave the colony.

The FSB initiated a criminal case against the so-called terrorist community “Network” in October 2017. According to it, 11 people from Penza, St. Petersburg and Moscow were detained and then arrested, most of them are anarchists and anti-fascists. According to the investigation, young people created an online community with the goal of committing acts of terrorism and overthrowing the government.

Yulian Boyarshinov and Viktor Filinkov were on trial in St. Petersburg. Filinkov was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment, Boyarshinov – to five and a half years in a colony, but later the term was reduced to 3 months.

Most of the accused claimed that the case materials were fabricated by the FSB, and repeatedly stated that they had given confessions under torture. The Investigative Committee did not find anything illegal in the actions of FSB employees.

In February 2020, seven defendants in the “Network” case were sentenced to terms ranging from 6 to 18 years.
