The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, responded to requests to allow Russian athletes to participate in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, calling on international partners to oppose these efforts, reports .
“Against the backdrop of ongoing Russian aggression and crushing war crimes, the IOC is “studying ways” to allow Russian athletes to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris. We call on our partners to join our honesty marathon, resist these efforts and defend the Olympic Charter,” Zelensky wrote on Twitter.

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, has changed her position regarding Russian participants in the 2024 Olympic Games, saying that it should be banned “while the war continues” in Ukraine.
Warsaw announced that about 40 countries will oppose the participation of athletes from Russia and Belarus at the 2024 Olympic Games.
On February 2, the heads of the ministries responsible for sports in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland condemned the International Olympic Committee’s attempts to return athletes from Russia and Belarus to international competitions.
