The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported on Sunday evening about his telephone conversation with the head of the White House, Joe Biden.

“Positive and inspiring conversation,” Zelensky wrote in his Telegram channel. According to the Ukrainian leader, he and the US president discussed the course of hostilities and the processes taking place in Russia. “The world must put pressure on Russia until the international order is restored,” Zelensky emphasized in his message.

Among other things, he wrote that he thanked Joe Biden for his unwavering support for Ukraine, especially for the delivery of Patriot missile defense systems. As Zelensky noted, it is important to further increase Ukraine’s capabilities to protect its sky. Also, according to him, he and Biden discussed further defense cooperation – with an emphasis on long-range weapons – and agreed positions before the NATO summit in Vilnius. The meeting is scheduled for July 11-12.

Earlier on Sunday, Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, noting, in particular, that he shared with his interlocutor Ukrainian assessments of the “coup attempt” in Russia and its influence on the course of hostilities.

A day earlier, commenting on the demand for an armed rebellion in Russia, which was undertaken by the mercenaries of PMC “Wagner” led by Evgeny Prigozhin, Vladimir Zelensky said that these events showed the world the complete lack of control by the Russian authorities over what is happening in their own country. “Complete chaos, complete lack of any predictability. And this is happening on the territory of Russia, which is fully armed,” Zelensky said.

  • The day before, the Kremlin confirmed the conclusion of agreements with the head of PMC “Wagner” Yevgenia Prigozhin, which put an end to the armed rebellion of mercenary detachments on June 23-24. According to the press secretary of the president, Dmitry Peskov, Belarusian authoritarian leader Alexander Lukashenko participated in the negotiations. The criminal case about the rebellion will be closed, Prigozhin himself will “go to Belarus,” Peskov said.
  • Yevgeny Prigozhin personally did not comment on the agreement with Alexander Lukashenko, but stated that he had ordered to stop the “march to Moscow” and return the mercenaries to the camps, as he did not want to shed blood.
