During the war, both military and civilian Ukrainians may be at risk of tetanus. Cousin reminds that every adult should be vaccinated at least once every 10 years. Vaccination is done simultaneously against tetanus and diphtheria. “Diphtheria remains a rather narrow childhood infection. We observe isolated cases of diphtheria on the territory of Ukraine and it is a vaccine-controlled infection. We do not expect and do not predict that there will be epidemic outbreaks of diphtheria itself, but in relation to each case, maximum measures are now applied to localize it.” , – said Cousin. The Ministry of Health is also wary of hepatitis. They especially threaten doctors on the front line or in “emergency” facilities.
