At the Lviv St. Panteleimon Hospital, doctors performed a plastic surgery using the microsurgical technique of transplanting a muscle flap from the back. The operation lasted 10 hours, said the head of the first surgical department of the hospital, Hnat Gerych. “The patient underwent complex plastic surgery of the wound of the lower extremity using the microsurgical technique of transplanting a muscle flap from the back,” the doctor wrote. In a commentary for “Ukrainian Pravda. Life”, Hnat Gerych said that a soldier named Bohdan was injured by a mine explosion, as a result of which he lost his right leg. Liv was saved. The medic added that the soldier’s body was cut by shrapnel, most of which had already been removed. Currently, the soldier is in the intensive care unit, his condition is stable. It will be recalled that in Lviv, doctors saved four patients by transplanting their organs from one posthumous donor.
