[ad_1]
The accident at the Kakhovskaya HPP caused the flooding of cemeteries, landfills, latrines, etc. Because of this, the water may become unfit for consumption, the Ministry of Health informs. The reason for this is chemicals, fertilizers and pathogens of infectious diseases, which will enter the river as a result of its spill over a large area. According to the Ministry of Health, specialists of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention are already taking water samples from reservoirs, wells, etc. on the ground. Therefore, collecting and consuming such fish in any form is prohibited, because there is a risk of botulism. To protect yourself, you should follow the following rules: ✅ Drink only bottled or imported water. ✅ Water for cooking and household needs should not be taken from the river or well. ✅ Remember that the water pipe is intended for technical purposes. ✅ Additionally disinfect water before using it for drinking, cooking, washing fruits, vegetables and dishes. Remember that boiling does not rid the water of chemical pollution! ✅ Refuse products that have been flooded with water (even from preservation). ✅ Subject all products to heat treatment (boiling, frying, baking). ✅ Wash your hands thoroughly with soap. ✅ Do not wear clothes that were contaminated during flooding without first washing and disinfecting. The Ministry of Health notes that in a number of regions of Ukraine, stockpiles of antibiotics and sorbents for the treatment of acute intestinal infections are being formed. If you have the following symptoms: abdominal pain; vomit; diarrhea; high temperature, etc. In this case, you should immediately consult a doctor. We remind you that if the water has changed its color or smell, it is dangerous to use it. Read also: Undermining of the Kakhovskaya HPP: how to evacuate and what to do in the event of flooding?
