According to experts’ forecasts, Ukraine will reach the peak of the incidence of COVID-19 in mid-December.

This was stated by the chief state sanitary doctor, Deputy Minister of Health Ihor Kuzin, reports the Center for Public Health.

Since the beginning of the epidemic season, a total of 1.3 million Ukrainians have already fallen ill with respiratory diseases. During December, about 4,000 patients with COVID-19 end up in the hospital every week.

“We will gradually observe such a pattern of transition from one virus to another. And so far, as of today, we record the fact that the vast majority of cases of coronavirus infection are registered in us, there are more of them“, Igor Kuzin said.

The peak is predicted for mid-December – it will last until January 2024, and then gradually fade.

“Starting from January, the influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2 will already begin to circulate“, added the chief state health doctor.

We will remind, recently Ihor Kuzin reported that the epidural threshold was exceeded only in the Chernivtsi region. However, they are not going to announce a nationwide quarantine.

Since the beginning of the epidemic season, more than 300 Ukrainians have died from COVID-19, including two children.
