The Rokytniv district court of the Rivne region sentenced a traumatologist who demanded a $1,500 bribe for the registration of a disability group: he was fined 34,000 hryvnias, and he also agreed to transfer $4,700 to the Armed Forces.
According to the court’s verdict, the accused is an orthopedist-traumatologist of the general surgical department of the Rokytniv multidisciplinary intensive care hospital.
He participated in the examination of temporary incapacity for work and prepared the necessary documents for the medical and social examination (MSEK), writes Zaxid.Net.
In June 2023, this hospital treated a man who complained of constant back pain after being injured in a road accident. He turned to the doctor for advice on registration of the disability group.

The doctor replied that for $1,500 he would assist him in registering a disability group. He promised to announce the final amount of the bribe later.
The law enforcement officers detained the traumatologist immediately after receiving the specified amount.
The accused entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor and agreed to voluntarily transfer $4,700 to the Armed Forces.
Later, the judge found the doctor guilty of bribery and fined him 34,000 hryvnias.
The doctor was not suspended from his post. He continues to work in this hospital.
