In Kropyvnytskyi, SBU employees arrested the head of the “Theatre of Corypheivs” for taking a bribe.

It is probably Serhiy Kornienko, who will hold the position of artistic director from September 2023.

According to the investigators, the man took a bribe for employment. A place in the team cost 3.5 thousand US dollars.

“The law enforcement officers detained the manager of the theater while he was receiving the second part of the stipulated bribe amount in one of the city’s restaurants. He received the illegal benefit in two tranches.” – the message says.

Currently, the issue of notifying the detainee that he is suspected of extorting and receiving a bribe (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and selecting a preventive measure is being decided.

A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

We will remind, the previous head of the theater was Vyacheslav Vandrashek. It is known that the regional council insisted on his dismissal. Then 150 members of the troupe came to the defense of the explorer and opposed the announcement of the competition for this place. In September 2023, Vandrasek left the director’s chair, but tried to regain his position through the court.
