Zookeepers evacuated two lions from the Kyiv region, which are in serious physical condition. They were taken to the Natalia Popova Wild Animal Rescue Center and UAnimals. This is reported by the animal protection organization UAnimals. According to the volunteers, a pair of animals – a female and a male – have health problems, in particular due to improper nutrition. They added that the male was crowding the lioness, who eventually stopped walking and was constantly lying down. As a result, the animal developed psychological illnesses in addition to bedsores. “The situation is complicated by the difficult psychological state of the lioness, because the lion has taken control over the entire territory,” the report says. “The lions need our help, because keeping them in inappropriate conditions and indifference have brought them to this state, without rescue they will simply die,” the organization adds.
