In 2023, more than 4,000 Ukrainians were diagnosed with an acute stress reaction, and since the beginning of 2024, almost 3,000 people have been diagnosed with such a diagnosis.

- acceleration of heartbeat (60-100 beats per minute for most adults) and breathing rate (12-20 breaths per minute);
- slowing down or completely stopping digestion;
- narrowing of blood vessels in many parts of the body;
- expansion of blood vessels in the muscles;
- stopping saliva secretion and tear production;
- pupil dilation;
- tremor;
- increased sweating;
- tunnel vision – a condition in which the organs of vision cannot see objects from the sides, leaving the central view.
Ukrainians who cannot cope with the symptoms of stress on their own are recommended by the Ministry of Health to contact a specialist, because the consequences of this condition often make life difficult.
You should visit first family doctorwhich will conduct diagnosis of mental state. According to her results, the specialist will make a treatment plan within its competence.
If necessary, a medical worker can send for consultation to a specialist of a narrower profile.
Currently, mental health care can be obtained in 982 institutions of Ukraine within the framework of the package “Support and treatment of adults and children with mental disorders at the primary level of medical care” under the existing contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine.

Patients who cannot or do not want to meet with a doctor in person should call one of the lines psychological support, providing services free of charge.
