An administrative case was initiated against the pediatrician and blogger Sergey Butriy under the article about incitement or enmity, or humiliation of human dignity. Journalist Yulia Azarova drew attention to the case card on the website of the Moscow City Court. The doctor’s last name is written in it with a mistake, but Butria’s acquaintances confirmed that it is exactly him.
It is not specified what exactly the law enforcement officers could consider as a violation. “Dozhd” TV channel, citing sources in medical chats, suggests that the reason could be Butria’s interview in the “Tell Gordeeva” program, which appeared on journalist Kateryna Gordeeva’s YouTube channel in March of last year. In it, Butry talked about the detrimental effect of Russia’s war in Ukraine on Russian society and the state of medicine in the country.
Punishment under the pre-administrative article on inciting hatred or enmity is a fine or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
