A court in Moscow arrested in absentia a Moscow deputy and a member of the punk band Pussy Riot, Lucy Shtein, who is accused of spreading “fakes” about the Russian army. This is reported by TASS.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia declared the Pussy Riot member wanted.

The reason for the case against the activist was her comments on Twitter (now -X), which she left on March 27, 2022. On this day, Shtein participated in a discussion on a social network of a video that appeared on the Internet, where, presumably, Ukrainian military personnel shot captive Russians in the legs.

In 2021, Luce Stein was ordered to restrict her freedom for a “sanitary matter”. After Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, she left Russia, cutting off the FSIN electronic bracelet.

On November 3, a court in Moscow sentenced the Pussy Riot member and former publisher of “Mediazon” Petro Verzilov in absentia to eight and a half years in prison for the article about “fakes” about the Russian army.

The case was initiated due to posts on social networks about the murders in Buche. According to the investigation, the publications contain a message “capable of causing an unreasonable increase in social tension and causing harm to the interests of Russia.” According to the verdict, with his posts, Verzilov also “created a real threat of forming a false opinion among citizens about the goals and objectives of a special military operation.”

The Ukrainian authorities, as well as numerous investigations by journalists, the UN and the OSCE, concluded that hundreds of civilians died during the Russian occupation of Bucha in February-March 2022.
