A court in Ukraine sentenced journalist Yulia Vityazeva to 11 years in absentia

The court in Lviv sentenced the Russian journalist Yulia Vityazeva (real name – Yulia Lozanova) to 11 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
She was found guilty of “information cooperation with Russia”, as well as “justifying the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine.”
According to the verdict, Vytyazeva controls the fate of the NewsFront company, which is “a source of disinformation and propaganda.” Earlier, the United States, Japan and Australia imposed sanctions against the organization.
The document also states that Vityazeva “actively publishes anti-Ukrainian publications, collects funds for the Russian occupation forces” in her Telegram channel, and also supports Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. In addition, she appears on Russian television, where she “denies the occupation of Ukraine and glorifies the Russian authorities.”
Vytyazeva is a native of Odessa. According to RBC, in 2015 she moved to Russia, and in 2020 she received Russian citizenship. Her Telegram channel has more than 77 thousand subscribers.
