A drone was shot down in the suburbs of St. Petersburg

On the evening of March 10, the Ministry of Defense of Russia reported a downed drone in the Leningrad Region. According to the head of the region, Alexander Drozdenko, the drone was shot down over the village of Fornosovo, south of St. Petersburg.

Because of the drone, the airspace over the region was closed, the Pulkovo passenger airport did not accept or release flights for more than an hour. Three planes were forced to land at reserve airfields, reported Rosaviatsia.

According to the Russian authorities, the downed drone belonged to the Ukrainian army. It was not commented on in Kyiv.

Objects in the Leningrad Region were the targets of attack drones several times. On March 5, Radio Svoboda published a material that described the main goals of the strikes.

On March 6, the operative headquarters of the Leningrad region banned the publication and distribution of information that would reveal the location of Russian military positions in the region. The publication and distribution of any information about the consequences of the attacks was prohibited.
