A member of the SPC asks to transfer Kadyrov, who was beaten by his son, to another pre-trial detention center

Eva Merkacheva, a member of the Council for Human Rights under the President of Russia, asked to transfer Nikita Zhuravel, who was arrested for burning the Koran, from the Grozny detention center to the Federal Prison Service in another region of the country. She substantiated her request with reports that Zhuravel was beaten by the son of the head of Chechnya in the pre-trial detention center. The fact of the beating was confirmed – and approved – by representatives of the republic’s leadership.

“The statements of public and political figures of Chechnya confirm the fact that Nikita Zhuravel was beaten… I ask that an investigation be carried out on what basis persons unrelated to the investigation and who do not exercise the legal right to communicate with those under investigation were given access to him during the period of detention.” wrote Merkacheva in her address. “For safety reasons, I am asking to urgently transfer Nikita Zhuravel to the FSIN institution of the second region,” she added.

In turn, the politician and journalist Marina Litvinovych called on Russians to also send requests regarding the beating of Zhuravel to the director of the FSIN through the department’s reception desk or through the State Service, reports Kavkaz.Realii.

Earlier, the Deputy of the State Duma of Russia from Chechnya Adam Delymkhanov and the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic Magomed Daudov praised Ramzan Kadyrov’s 15-year-old son Adam for the alleged beating of Nikita Zhuravel.

“Deputies of the State Duma, senators of the Russian Federation from the Chechen Republic and I personally support Adam Ramzanovich,” Delymkhanov wrote in his Telegram channel. Chairman of the Chechen Parliament Daudov said that Kadyrov’s son “acted as a true Muslim, a patriot of his country and a real Chechen” and that he is “ready to answer for his actions, no matter what it costs him.”

On Friday evening, Akhmed Dudayev, Chechnya’s Minister of National Policy, also spoke with the approval of Adam Kadyrov’s actions. “We understand, we live in a legal country, there are laws, the Constitution. But in this case there are also religious feelings, customs,” Dudayev said in particular, calling Zhuravel a “Satanist” and noting that Kadyrov’s son “was able to reach him.” – since it is impossible “to reach the Satanists in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, America, who burn the Koran every day.”

• 19-year-old Nikita Zhuravel is a native of the annexed Crimea, he burned the Koran in the spring of this year in Volgograd. After his arrest, on the initiative of the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, he was taken to Grozny. There Zhuravel was greeted with a summons to the “people’s court”. Russian President Vladimir Putin also called it correct to suggest that he serve his sentence in a “Muslim region”. At the same time, Zhuravel had not yet been tried.

It states that during a visit to the pretrial detention center of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, his 15-year-old son Adam attacked the detainee and beat him with his hands and feet.
