A court in Moscow fined transgender activist Milana Petrova for articles on LGBT+ propaganda and discrediting the Russian army in a telegram. This is reported by “Caution, News”.

For “LGBT+ propaganda”, which Russian courts recognize as any positive information about the queer community, Petrova must pay 200,000 rubles. For “discrediting the army”, which the Russian authorities consider information that does not coincide with the version of the Ministry of Defense – 50 thousand.

The police drew attention to Petrova’s posts after the mourning of Ekaterina Mizulyna, head of the Safe Internet League.

Yesterday, August 13, Petrova stopped communicating, and media reports appeared about her detention at Domodedovo airport. In a closed Telegram channel, Petrova’s statement, allegedly sent through a lawyer, and her photo with traces of beatings were published.

Today, August 14, “Ostrozhno, novosti” reported that the information about Petrova’s detention was not confirmed: she was not present at the court session. However, the day before, Petrova’s Telegram channel reported that she was supposed to fly to Moscow. The activist has not been living in Russia since the end of 2021, “OVD-Info” wrote.
