A Ukrainian start-up looking for housing in the US has attracted $5.5 million in investment

Propertymate – a Ukrainian startup that helps and simplifies the search and purchase of newly built housing in the USA, has raised $5.5 million. investments.
The founders of the startup informed the EP about this.
“These investments give the team the opportunity to enter new markets and bring even more value to buyers and developers, as well as to do more for the victory and restoration of Ukraine,” the company said.
Now the company plans to enter new real estate markets.
Previously, the company was able to enter the markets of Austin, Texas, Dallas, Houston, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, San Antonio, Miami – Fort Lauderdale, Raleigh-Durham and Ocala-Gainesville.
Eight more markets will follow, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, Denver and Phoenix.
In addition, the company is now considering the possibility of entering the Ukrainian market as well.
“We are glad that despite the crisis in the real estate market caused by COVID and the war in Ukraine, we managed to keep our team, which is one of our priorities, and now there is hope that we will continue to expand it, both in Ukraine and in the USA.” – said co-founder of the startup Cofia Vishnevska.
It is also reported that after receiving funding, the startup changed its name to NewHomesMate (the product and business model will remain unchanged).
The startup’s main headquarters is located in Austin with a team of 91 people.
Investments were attracted from the American venture capital companies Gaingels, Asymmetry Ventures, the Unpopular Ventures syndicate, Ukrainian – Geek Ventures, Flyer One Ventures, SID Venture Partners, U.Ventures, as well as Pragmatech Ventures – the fund of iDeals co-founder Yevgen Sergeev.
Among the project’s new investors are former Oliver Wyman CEO David Morrison, American economist Adrian Slyvotskyi, John Gu from Norwest Venture Partners, SquareFoot founder Jonathan Wasserstrom, Opswat founder Benny Charney.

The startup NewHomesMate (Propertymate) was launched in 2020 by Bohdan Hnatkovskyi and Sofia Vishnevska from Lviv. The next year, the startup raised $1 million.
Vyshnevska is a graduate of LNU named after Franka, worked as an HR-marketer at the IT company SoftServe and headed the marketing of the Lviv manufacturer of Duna socks. In 2017, she became the operations director of Hnatkovsky’s previous startup, Brainify, a real estate sales automation platform.
In total, since its foundation, the startup has received $6.7 million in investments.
To date, over 97,000 homes are listed on the Propertymate marketplace
Key clients include developers and real estate agencies, including KB Home, Meritage Homes, Lennar, etc. Propertymate earns commissions or referral payments on each transaction.
