A mercenary of the private military company “Wagner” who returned to Kirov from the war in Ukraine was arrested for raping a 22-year-old girl, Baza reports.
The publication notes that in 2013 Dmitry Efimov was already convicted of the same crime, and in 2019 he also received a sentence for murder. However, in 2022, the prisoner signed a contract with PMC “Wagner”, went to fight in Ukraine, and after serving the prescribed term, was pardoned and released.
According to police materials, on the night of February 24, Efimov forcibly put a resident of Kirov into someone else’s parked car, after which he abused her. Then, to cover his tracks, Efimov set fire to the car.
- Reports of serious crimes, including murder and rape, committed by returnees from the war in Ukraine regularly appear in the mass media. Hundreds of such cases are already known. The resonance caused by them forced the Kremlin to recommend controlled journalists not to tell about such incidents.
