On March 1, the funeral of the opposition politician Alexei Navalny, who died on February 16 in a special regime colony in the Arctic village of Harp, was held in Moscow. Thousands of Muscovites came to the funeral, and in dozens of Russian cities, local residents brought flowers to natural memorials. Actions in memory of Navalny are also held in many cities and countries around the world.

In Jerusalem, the servants of the Aleksandrovsk manor held a memorial service on Navalny at the threshold of the Judgment Gate, an Orthodox shrine on the territory of the manor. It is believed that Christ crossed the threshold of these ancient gates on his way to execution.

In Tbilisi and Batumi, people bring flowers and candles to natural memorials. In the capital of Georgia, Navalny is said goodbye in the Russian interests section of the Swiss embassy (Russia does not have its own embassy in Tbilisi, diplomatic relations between the countries were severed in 2008 after the armed conflict between them).

Flowers are brought to the Russian embassy in Yerevan.

And to the Russian consulate in Almaty.

Dozens of people with flowers gathered at the Russian embassy in Prague. They arranged an impromptu concert. The square near the embassy bears the name of Boris Nemtsov – it was so named in 2020 at the request of citizens. Nemtsov’s name is also on the square at the Russian embassy in Vilnius – today there are also flowers in memory of Navalny there.

Navalny’s team called those who cannot say goodbye to the politician in Moscow come to the memorials in their cities at 7 p.m. local time. Commemorative actions have already been announced in many European cities, we will follow them.
