An MMA fighter was arrested in Moscow on charges of inciting terrorism

The Chertanovsky district court of Moscow arrested until December 11 the fighter of mixed martial arts, a native of Chechnya, Ilyas Yakubov, who is accused of calling for terrorism. The 31-year-old athlete faces up to seven years in prison.

Yakubov was detained the day before at the airport in Moscow, where he flew from the United Arab Emirates. The reason was a video that the athlete previously published on Instagram: on the footage, Yakubov is training to the monologue of Shamil Basaev.
