Associate professor Dmitry Burakov was dismissed from the university after being fined for “discrediting”

Dmytro Burakov, an associate professor of the St. Petersburg State University of Communications, who was fined under the article on discrediting the army, was dismissed from the university. He told about this on April 4 in a conversation with “Fontanka”.

“I was fired by agreement of the parties… The rector received a ban even to postpone this process to Friday,” Burakov is quoted by “Fontanka”. The publication turned to the press service of the university for a comment. At the same time, the publication notes that the teacher’s card is still available on the university’s website.

Dmitry Burakov was detained on April 2 right at his workplace – in the auditorium of the university. On April 3, a court was held, during which the teacher was fined 30,000 rubles, charged with an administrative article about “discrediting” the Russian army.

The reason for the detention was the avatar on the VKontakte page – a trident on the background of the Ukrainian flag and a pacifist statement. “I agree, of course, with what was posted by me.
