The administration of one of Russia’s leading technical universities, the Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman, credits students with physical education credits in exchange for weaving camouflage nets for the Russian army, reports the “Initiative Group of Moscow State Technical University” public on VK social networks.

The authors of the message have published a list of ways to score points by subject. Among them, in addition to weaving networks, reading materials on a healthy lifestyle, lectures on psychology and volunteering. They urged classmates to use alternative methods of obtaining the necessary points.

“We do not know how the weaving of nets is related to general physical training, and we oppose the introduction of items that are not related to physical culture and are not aimed at developing a healthy lifestyle for students,” the group’s message says.

  • In November of last year, the US authorities imposed sanctions against Bauman MSTU. MSTU prepares engineers for the Russian industry, including the military industry, employees and departments of the university participate in the development of weapons, ammunition and means of military protection.
