In Russia, all concerts of the March tour of the rock group “Mummy Troll” have been canceled. The musicians were supposed to perform in Ryazan, Penza, Voronezh, Kursk, Oryol and Yaroslavl. The group’s producer, Alisa Seryogina, refused to comment on the reasons for the cancellation, but the group’s pages on social networks indicate that they do not depend either on the musicians themselves or on the organizers of the concerts.
In March of last year, shortly after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, “Mummy Troll” announced that it was suspending concert activities. The musicians published an anti-war statement: “For more than two decades, our job was to write songs that united the listeners of Russia, Ukraine and other countries. “The music broke down…” Peace is needed immediately.”
After the start of the war in Russia, concerts of performers who opposed the invasion and theater performances with the participation of actors who declared their anti-war position were repeatedly canceled or postponed indefinitely. Many artists left the country, some were included by the Ministry of Justice of Russia in the list of foreign agents.
- On July 7, 2022, the publication “Fontank” published a list of Russian musicians whose performances the authorities consider undesirable in Russia due to their anti-war stance. Among them are the groups DDT, “Casta”, “Bi-2”, “Nogu svelo”, Anacondaz, IC3PEAK, “Krovostok”, Little Big, singers Zemfira, Monetochka, Grechka, Manizha, Louna, Dora, rappers Oxxxymiron, Face, Morgenstern , Legalize and other artists.
