Due to bad weather, 81 settlements in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions were cut off, 77 of them for more than a day.

This is reported by “Ukrenergo”.

At the same time, consumers in the Sumy region are without power due to technical damage.

Due to hostilities and other reasons, 467 settlements remain without electricity. As a result of the shelling, there is new damage to Oblenergo networks in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions.

Emergency recovery works are carried out depending on the security situation and with the permission of the military, the company added.

“In the southern region this morning, two high-voltage overhead lines were disconnected due to protection. On one, there were no disconnections of consumers, on the other, power supply to consumers was restored after 1 hour. The lines are back in operation, the reasons for the activation of the protection systems are being investigated,” the message also states.

Ukrenergo noted that Wednesday, December 20, was the warmest day since the beginning of December. The average daily temperature was 4.9°C. The maximum daily level of consumption on December 20 was in the evening, its indicator was 0.9% lower than on December 19. This was the lowest maximum consumption on a working day since the beginning of December.

“Despite the noticeable warming, the overall level of consumption remains high. This is typical for the winter period, but it still creates an additional load on the power system. Therefore, it is still very important to consume electricity sparingly now,” the company emphasizes.

“Ukrenergo” also reminded that a thermal power plant was fired upon twice in a day in the eastern region. There is equipment damage.

At the same time, thanks to the sunny weather, the production volume of solar power plants increased yesterday.

Currently, the electricity produced by power plants of all types is enough to ensure the energy supply of all legal and household consumers, the state company assured.

There is no export of electricity on December 21, and import is carried out almost throughout the day from Slovakia, Romania and Moldova. The total volume is 6,630 MWh, with maximum capacity in individual hours up to 563 MW. From December 1, the technical possibility of importing electricity from Europe to Ukraine and Moldova is 1,700 MW.
