The G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan will announce the introduction of new sanctions against Russia.

This was stated by an unnamed representative of the White House to journalists, reports “Evropeyska Pravda”.

“All G7 members are preparing to introduce new sanctions and export controls. I won’t go into the details of what the partners are doing, but the United States will offer its own significant package,” he said.

The U.S. plans to expand export controls to make it harder for Russia to maintain its military machine, according to a White House official. This, in particular, involves a significant limitation of categories of key goods of the military-industrial complex, as well as disconnection of about 70 entities from Russia and third countries from receiving exports from the USA by adding them to the black list.

“In addition, we will announce more than 300 new sanctions against individuals, legal entities, ships and aircraft,” the official said.

These measures will be aimed at stopping the circumvention of restrictive measures. They will be directed against financial intermediaries, as well as entities that help support the war unleashed by Russia. These will be sanctions across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, he added.

Earlier, the national security adviser to the US president, Jake Sullivan, stated that the G7 summit would not discuss the issue of a complete ban on exports to Russia, but the main attention will be paid to the implementation of sanctions and their evasion.
