Roskomnadzor decided to revoke the media license of “Free Media” in Krasnodar. The department does not see articles on its site because of its own blocking. Kavkaz.Realii talk about it.
According to the notification of Roskomnadzor, there are no longer any publications on the “Free Media” website. At the same time, the materials on it are published regularly, but in Russia they can be read only with a VPN, since Roskomnadzor itself blocked the site more than a year ago.
“We immediately sent an objection to the department’s decision, and in the event of a court proceeding, we intend to challenge the false conclusions of Roskomnadzor in court,” said Mark Nebesny, editor-in-chief of the publication.
- After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Roskomnadzor blocked about 206 thousand sites, including media sites and social networks: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, due to “fakes” about the course of the war.
- Nevertheless, criminal and administrative cases are regularly opened for publications on blocked social networks due to “fakes” about the war in Ukraine. Russian courts recognize reports about the war in Ukraine that do not coincide with the version of the Ministry of Defense of Russia as fakes.
