In Barnaul, the police detained a poet for reading anti-war poems

In the central district of Barnaul, near the Pushkin monument, the police detained the poet and activist Artyom Sakharov for reading anti-war poems, the human rights project “OVD-Info” reports.

It is noted that several activists planned to hold an event called “Pushkin readings. Poetry for peace” at the monument on Sunday.

After the arrest, Sakharov was taken to the police department. It is known that he is left in a cell overnight. At the same time, there is no information on what article the activist is charged with. There is no connection with him.

In March, Artyom Sakharov was fined 20,000 rubles and found guilty of organizing an uncoordinated action for the fact that in the center of Barnaul he built an improvised memorial in memory of the victims of the war in Ukraine.

In May, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow sentenced the poet and rock musician Mykola Daineko to four years in prison for reading anti-war poems near the Mayakovsky monument in Moscow. He was found guilty of “inciting hatred” and “calling for anti-state activity.”

On the same case, two more participants are read – Artyom Kamardyn and Yegor Shtovba. After the detention, they were beaten, and Kamardin, according to witnesses, was subjected to sexual violence.

Later, a video appeared on the network in which Kamardin, Shtovba and Daineko, standing on their knees, begged for forgiveness for their anti-war stance. Bruises were visible on their faces.

Daineko’s case was considered in a special regime, since he cooperated with the investigation.
