In Finland, bailiffs confiscated real estate belonging to a scientist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Russian businessman Boris Alyoshin, who is connected to the military industry, YLE media corporation reported on Tuesday.

In June, the adviser to the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Alyoshin was put on the EU sanctions list because of Russia’s war against Ukraine. His property was confiscated in September at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. According to the bailiff’s decision, Alyoshin had two adjacent plots of real estate near the town of Longvik, in the Kirkkonummy municipality in the south of the country, confiscated from him. The value of the objects is more than 2.5 million euros.

In the summer of 2020, Alyoshin submitted an application for approval of the purchase of land in Finland to the Ministry of Defense of Finland, in accordance with local legislation. The application stated that the businessman spent his vacations in these places, where he liked to mainly go fishing, writes YLE.

The Russian United Aircraft Corporation unites all the largest aircraft construction enterprises in Russia, including MiG and Sukhoi, which produce military aircraft. Boris Alyoshin is also the chairman of the board of directors of the Kronstadt company, which produces Orion military drones.
