Six inmates of Correctional Colony No. 3 in the village of Kamenka in Kabardino-Balkaria staged a riot, protesting against their placement in a correctional facility (SHIZO), reports Kavkaz.Realii.

On January 9, prisoners in two cells of the SHIZO set fire to mattresses – this was noticed by the colony’s employees, writes the “Shot” telegram channel. They demanded relaxation of detention conditions. It is confirmed that no one was injured as a result of the incident.

According to unconfirmed data, those convicted of robbery, theft, robbery and murder participated in the riot. They are 22 to 33 years old. An inspection is underway in the colony, the inmates have refused to show up, the Mash Gor Telegram channel reports.

The FSIN department for Kabardino-Balkaria confirmed the fact of a request for arson in the colony, reports RIA “Novosti”. According to the agency, the colony is now working normally. At the same time, FSIN refused to call what happened a riot.

Several convicts tried to set fire to the mattresses in the colony, no one was hurt, the colony is working normally, RIA “Novosti” was told by the Ukrainian Federal Security Service.

According to the agency’s source, the prisoners demanded a relaxation of the regime, there was no riot.

Representatives of the republican administration of the FSIN, the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor’s office do not comment on the reports of the prisoners’ riot. Earlier, mourning had already arrived at the colony in the village of Kamenka. In 2016, Khalisa Aliyeva reported that her husband Murad Rajabov and two other prisoners from Azerbaijan and Dagestan were being bullied on the basis of national hatred. According to Aliyeva, the prisoners were beaten by the colony staff. Despite the presence of bruises on Radjabov’s face, the UNC stated that the information about the beating was not confirmed.
