The Krasnoyarsk bar “Elton” announced its closure after a police investigation into the denunciation of the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Myzulyna, as well as a visit by activists of the “Northern Man” movement, who tried to disrupt the work of the establishment.

In the statement of the bar management, it is stated that they are not able to ensure the safety of employees and visitors when “hate propaganda is being carried out, clashes between some citizens of the country and others are actually being encouraged,” Sibir.Realii reports.

In the mass media, “Elton” was often called a queer or LGBT bar. The representatives of “Elton” denied this, however, they criticized the laws prohibiting the so-called LGBT propaganda and called the bar a space open to all.

In December of last year, the police already came to “Elton”. Then all the visitors were taken away from the establishment because of complaints about young people kissing in the premises.

According to the mass media, on the night of February 23 to 24, a travesty party “Day of the Defender of the Fatherland” was held in the “Elton” bar. Ekaterina Myzulyna, head of the Safe Internet League, drew attention to photos and videos from the event. She was upset that the men performing on stage were made up and dressed like women. “In Krasnoyarsk, the LGBT bar not only did not close, but also held a provocative party in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day. We will appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia regarding this situation,” Myzulyna wrote.

On the night of February 24 to 25, police officers detained 12 people in the “Elton” bar, checked a total of 19 visitors and bar employees. Explanatory notes were taken from them, but it is not known what specifically. The Krasnoyarsk police also said that they checked for alcohol and the presence of prohibited substances and objects. The representative of “Elton” rejected Mizulinov’s claims, saying: “I don’t see any problem in the fact that all Russian citizens who are recognized as our guests are exactly the same as everyone else. Just as in other bars, we noted state holiday. An artist performed on stage, this is not some kind of form, a thematic costume was specially made, thematic numbers are made for any holiday. I do not understand why our public figures believe that the citizens of Russia do not have the right to celebrate a state holiday.” However, all the photos and videos taken that evening disappeared from the bar’s social media pages.

In the evening of February 25, representatives of the “Northern Man” movement came to the bar to disrupt the work of the establishment. The administration released the employees of the Russian Guard, later the “investigative group” arrived. The work of the bar had to be stopped, guests were escorted to a taxi for safety reasons. As it is said on the pages of “Northern Man”, this movement is for “consolidation of Russian people within Russia”. Russian rapper Misha Mavasha announced the creation of his ego in 2022.

  • After the Russian authorities recognized the non-existent international LGBT movement as an extremist organization, as well as after the scandalous “naked party” of blogger Anastasia Ivleeva, which caused the outrage of officials, law enforcement agencies began to massively disrupt parties for adults – both private and those held in specialized clubs. Participants of such parties are detained, arrested or forced to publicly apologize for “immoral behavior”, and clubs are closed.
